World Environment Day Event in Mumbai
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has selected
India for the first time ever to be the global host of World Environment Day
2011(WED) on 5 June. This year’s theme for WED is Forests: Nature at Your
Service. Various organizations -both profit and non-profit - are organizing
events across the country to spread environmental awareness.
Idobro, a “for-benefit” enterprise that provides market access for social and environment impact, is one among them organizing an event on 5th June to celebrate the World Environment Day.
World Environment Day is an annual event that is aimed at being the most widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action. WED activities take place all year round but climax on 5 June every year. Started in 1972 by the United Nations Environment Programme, WED has become a catalyst that stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and encourages political attention and action.
Idobro, an EmpAower and Vrutti initiative, is an exclusive platform for consumer awareness, corporate engagement and commercial partnerships for social and environment impact.
Idobro aims to promote social and eco-friendly products; build awareness for business diversity and viable initiatives for development; provide appropriate tools and resources to connect, communicate and collaborate; and generate employment and livelihood for socially challenged.
To promote environment awareness, Idobro is participating in WED celebrations by organizing an event, the details of which are given below.
PROGRAMME:
The event will start with the launch of the Green Catalog by Idobro followed by the display of green and eco-friendly products at various stalls. This event will also include–
· An exhibition on ecology byTerracon.
· Competitions for children, talks on Vermicomposting and benefits on natural and mock quizzes on environment - to be conducted by B Positive.
· Pledge to be.
· Distribution of prizes and giveaways.

The event will be organized on 5th June 2011 from 5-9 PM at Carter Road, Promenade.
