Overview

It is appalling to see that only 10% of India’s workforce holds any form of higher education degree. Moreover out of this miniscule percent 47% are unemployable & over 50 million did not get jobs last year or were under-employed. Low income communities in India are most affected by this, as the high investment they make in their child’s education takes time to start giving returns, putting the family into further financial strain. Unemployment in some cases forces them to resort to criminal activities like theft, fraud etc. to make both ends meet. Through our work at Kaarmic, we are attempting to address the problem of employability by offering affordable and high quality education services to the low income communities. We empower the educated youth from the low-income community with the right skills, guidance and support, so that they can become breadwinners & uplift their family’s economic status by making an honest living.

Model

We are dedicated to provide affordable educational services to low-income community students studying in Slum Schools and Low-graded colleges. Our services act as a support system for students right from schooling, till the point they graduate and get a job. All our program are paid for by the schools and colleges, but our end beneficiaries are the low-income community students and parents. Our school programs help improve the skill building capabilities of the student, help identify the right higher education and maintaining an education complementary environment to improve student learning outcomes.
