Solar technician trainees at work

A livelihood is not secure if the next climate shock can wipe it out.

Climate change is already altering how people farm, work, live and earn. We help vulnerable workers, farmers and enterprises adapt while building new economic opportunities through resilient agriculture, green jobs, finance, insurance and stronger markets.

Build a climate program where resilience also improves incomes

Adaptation and income, one ladder

Climate adaptation and economic opportunity belong together

  • A farmer may learn a climate-smart techniquebut still lack the capital to adopt it.
  • A young person may want a green jobbut lack recognised skills.
  • A micro-enterprise may invest in resiliencebut have no access to finance.

A climate shock can quickly wipe out an income gain if insurance or social protection is missing. So we connect adaptation with the economic tools required to act on it.

The rungs we measure

Why the rungs must connect

Why this approach matters

Climate programs work better when adaptation, finance, markets and livelihood outcomes are designed together rather than as separate workstreams.
